Killer Croquet is a board game project that has been in development the longest out of any of my prototypes, and in many ways it is one of the most promising. Some of my design goals are pretty straight forward.
Easy enough to learn for a family, but engaging enough for college students.
A skill curve that would give experienced players an advantage, but not enough of one that they would win every time.
Mechanics that match the mismatched theme of decorum and chaos, giving players options that feel like a disruption of expectations.
That elements of the game that would translate well into a trans-media narrative.
As I continue to playtest and refine the game, I seem to enjoy it all the more. There is currently no plans for production this year, but only time will tell. Feel free to follow the progress of Killer Croquet on this blog, as it moves forward in the slow march to existence.
